Students will develop skills and experience in providing Oracle database support in a high performance, highly available database environment. We start with computer basics to provide an overall, general knowledge of information technology and an ability to resolve complex problems and proactively provide solutions.
At the end of the 5 months Oracle DBA course, students will be able to perform the following Duties and Responsibilities:
• Install, patch and maintain all Oracle software.
• Tune all Oracle instance components including SQL and PL/SQL,
• Control all migrations of Oracle schema objects, design and implement a backup & recovery system.
• Implement Oracle fail-over technology.
• Provide performance tuning to meet customer expectations.
• Apply patches as needed.
• Provide database maintenance and performance management
• Work with applications teams to understand and satisfy complex database requirements
• Implement, configure, and support Oracle databases
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in a dynamic environment
• Complete numerous hands on projects for an equivalent experience of 5+ years of Oracle DBA experience in a Unix/Linux
environment.
• Understand requirements to migrate existing databases to Oracle 12c.
• Perform Installation, configuration, and develop management experience with Oracle RAC and standalone databases. (a separate
course offered)
• Develop Strong trouble-shooting and issue resolution skills.
• Students will develop Strong hands-on experience with database and SQL tuning.
• Learn basic Unix/Linux shell scripting.
• Acquire strong Proficiency with database design for transactional and data warehouse systems.
• Develop excellent verbal and written communications skills, from our recommended writing and communication course.
• Students will be exposed to support experience with large data warehouses.
